It is a song by American rock musician Lou Reed from his second solo album, Transformer (1972). The song's lyrics describe individuals and their journeys to New York City, such as Holly Woodlawn, Candy Darling, Joe Dallesandro, Jackie Curtis and Joe Campbell, etc.
The vinyl cover visually tells the stories mentioned in the lyrics. I have illustrated four different styles of this song’s vinyl cover. It shows one music could bring different understandings to individuals.
