This illustration represents the dichotomy of life: start vs. end. In Dao, it believes that humans will turn into different elements and go back to nature after he/she dies. I see life as a journey; experience is the most valuable aspect of a human being’s life. This Ying and Yang maze represents the life journey: a baby goes into the maze and comes out in senior age without fear. This maze only has one entrance and exit. Life is a loop in which any human being absorbs the elements during the journey and returns them without taking anything.
Daoism is one of the Chinese traditional philosophies. Lao Tze addresses the core principles of Daoism in Tao Te Ching: 1. Simplicity. It advocates a modest lifestyle devoid of unnecessary desires, fostering inner peace. 2. Wu Wei. This encourages acting in alignment with the natural flow of the universe. 3. Harmony with nature. It emphasizes the balance and tranquillity within the cosmos. 4. Balance. The Yin and Yang emphasize the importance of balance amidst opposing forces. 5. Change. Embracing life changes impermanently, urging individuals to adapt and navigate challenges with resilience.
